The group of Europe's elite club competition drew to a close as the last 16 took shape, games were filled with excitement and spilled as the teams took their place in the knockout stages.
Current champions Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Chelsea have all booked their places as it looks to be getting tense as we await the next run of fixtures. In group B, Borussia Mochengladach made it to the knockouts for the first time in their history even though they succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Real Madrid, even though Los Blancos had a rough start to the season.
Inter Milan wasted the opportunity of grabbing a win against Shaktar and booking their berth in the Europa League and hence were knocked out of the competition, the first time they failed to make it to the knockouts since 2011. Atalanta grabbed a late winner against Ajax in group C which saw them progress along with English Champions Liverpool FC. In the end, 3 English clubs, 4 Spanish clubs, 4 German clubs, 3 Italian clubs1 Portuguese and French side qualified and it all comes down to them. The draw takes place on Monday at 4:30 pm IST/11 am GMT.
