Pizza was invented in Italy, but it wasn't until Neapolitans crossed the Atlantic that the cheesy cuisine took off. During the 1940s, Italians served up their slices in the United States, and Americans began to notice the unique flavors. Pizza parlors began establishing themselves in major cities such as Boston, Chicago, and St. Louis, but the first one

documented was established in New York in 1905.

The world began clamoring for Americana after World War II, sending pizza into the stratosphere. Globally, chefs are reviving this centuries-old creation with local flavors and ingredients such as Sicilian-style pizza. No longer viewed as an unfit meal, pizza became an instant classic, launching numerous chains and providing countless ways to satisfy cravings.

Their first pizzeria opened in Chicago in 1966, and they have been delighting locals ever since.


  • 1 cup curd or yogurt

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons oil

  • 2 cup maida or plain flour

  • 3/4 cup


  • Pizza sauce (four tablespoons)

  • Small cubes of onion

  • a few sliced capsicums

  • olives sliced

  • 3 slices of tomato

  • a few jalapenos (chopped)

  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes

  • 1/4 teaspoon mixed herbs

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • paneer l


  • The rolled pizza base should be placed on the Tawa.

  • Further, leave a dent of at least one centimeter. That will help the crust to fluff a bit.

  • Prick the center of the dough with a fork to prevent it from puffing up like a chapati.

  • Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough.

  • Add onion, capsicum, olives, tomato, and jalapenos.

  • Spread 1 cup mozzarella cheese on top.

  • Sprinkle 1/4 tbsp chili flakes and 1/4 tbsp mixed herbs on top.

  • Simmer for 8 minutes or until cheese melts.

  • Slice and serve.
